About us

A small team that takes institutional software seriously

BitByteCyber builds software for organisations where failure is expensive and visible — schools, logistics operators, financial teams. That shapes how we work.

Why we exist

We started BitByteCyber after watching too many institutions buy software that looked impressive in a demo and collapsed in week three. The demo data was clean. The real data was not. The vendor disappeared after the invoice cleared.

So we built the company we'd have wanted to hire. Small enough that the people who scope your project are the people who write the code. Narrow enough in focus that we know the domain before you explain it. And committed to the unglamorous part — migration, training, and the second year of support — because that's where software actually succeeds or fails.

Our flagship product, the School Management ERP, came directly out of that. It exists because we kept meeting principals running a two-thousand-student campus on eleven spreadsheets and a WhatsApp group, and knew we could do better.

How we operate

Four commitments we don't negotiate on

01

Say the hard thing early

If your timeline is unrealistic or the feature you asked for is a bad idea, you'll hear it in week one, not at handover. We'd rather lose an argument than deliver something we know will fail.

02

Ship, then improve

A working system in production teaches you more in a month than another quarter of planning. We get something real in front of real users fast, then iterate on evidence.

03

Own the whole outcome

Migration, training, hosting, the awkward integration nobody wants — it's ours. 'Technically that's outside scope' is not a sentence we enjoy saying, and rarely one we need to.

04

Leave it maintainable

Documented, conventional, and handed over properly. If you replace us one day, the next team should thank us. That's the standard.

About the shield

The shield carries the BBC monogram over a fingerprint texture. The shield is for the systems we build — the ones that hold an institution's records and have to protect them. The fingerprint is for the fact that no two institutions are identical, and the software shouldn't be either.

Let's talk about your project

We take on a limited number of engagements at a time. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so and point you somewhere better.
